(Day before) Halloween Vampire Rogaine

Social orienteering/rogaine - Friday 30 October from 6:00 pm, location: Rabbit Island. This fun and sporty event is planned by Steve Malthus and controlled by Katie Malthus.

Registration opens at 5:30 pm.

Halloween Vampire Orienteering - briefing 5:50 pm, 60min max duration.

Bring your own pen/highlighter, and (Halloween) dress up if you want! 

Actual event 6:00 - 7:00 pm.

 

What is a vampire-O?

It is an exciting mix of rogaining and tag. Come and join us for 60 minutes of adrenaline-filled fun for all abilities. 

In a Vampire-O, everyone sets off with a rogaine map and a question/answer sheet. However, a few people will start as 'Vampires'. The Vampires will hunt you down and tag you. When you get tagged by a Vampire you exchange roles: you become the Vampire and the Vampire becomes the rogainer (the ex-Vampire takes your map/answer sheet and becomes a normal rogainer again). Keep your wits about you, as the identity of the Vampire will change many times. 

After 45 minutes, the finish 'Sanctuary' will open with the course closing at 60 minutes. The winner will be whoever holds the map/answer sheet with the most controls collected. 

Will speed or stealth beat the Vampires?

During the event, all main roads will be open, so you must take good care while crossing roads.

Bring your own pen or highlighter—costume optional - prize for best dressed.

Non-club member $10

Although we prefer pre-registration so the right number of maps can be ordered, it is possible to 'rock up' on the day and pay electronically - please bring your credit/debit card and a mobile phone...
