OY2 - Canaan Downs, Takaka Hill

This is the second OY for 2025, at tricky and beautiful Canaan Downs, Takaka Hill. The start window is 10:30 - 12:30. Course closure 14:30.
There will be four different difficulty levels to choose from: White, Yellow, Orange and Red. Within the Red level, there will be three different lengths. More detailed information regarding the courses will be published closer to the event.
Course setting is done by Lani Murray, while Neil & Fleur Murray take care of the controlling.
Each year, MOC and NOC combined run an Orienteer of the Year (OY) competition across all the grades and levels, per club. This is not just for the elite orienteers, they are for all orienteers and the points accumulate over the year for different events. Some are not interested in the OY points and but others watch their rankings after each event. The events encourage people to test their navigation in a variety of challenging events.
